Company Without Emotions Is In Big Trouble

Nowadays, resembling companies to living organisms is an acceptable approach. Prof. Dr. Acar Baltaş, in his book “Teamwork and Leadership” says that just like the living organism’s general state of health depends on the wellbeing of the physical, emotional, intellectual and moral health, companies should also be just as healthy in these areas and handles the topic extensively.
Physical healths of the companies are stated by their financial situation. A company which has an exemplary financial achievement is likely to be in a good physical condition as well. However, financial achievement is a result of the work done in the past. Success in the future does not solely depend on financial achievements. In order to increase the future success of the company emotional, intellectual and moral health should be considered important while preserving physical health.
Emotional health of a company depends on how well it feels itself. In a company which feels good about itself emotionally, relationships would remain clear and sincere regardless of hierarchies. There would be no apprehension, fear, bureaucracy between subordinates and superiors; and friendships would remain vital. If an environment where people get increasingly connected to each other is created, the emotional health of the company would be preserved.
Companies are not established in order to please their employees. They, at the end of the day, want to get the money they invest for the job in return. Nevertheless, companies without people are nothing but empty buildings. When common vision and missions are created and they are internalized, the motivation of company workers rises to top level. Motivated company workers want the products and services they produced to be accepted and appreciated in society. The more companies increase the benefit they create on society, the more employee happiness increase. While happy employees’ sense of belonging to the company rise up, in parallel with this their creativity also strengthen.
In emotionally depraved companies silos arise. People rather than connecting to the company and the company’s benefits get attached to their surroundings. Employee satisfaction plummets, rumors start, the number of workers who pretend to be working increase and the employees who are destined to shape the future of the company leave the company. As result of all these, company’s product and service quality decrease.
In a word “a company without emotions, even if it has money, is in big trouble”
